Be Your Own Biggest Fan | A Working Man’s Motivation

They are times on life when motivation simply flees from us. When we feel so unmotivated and stuck in our current position that the simple act of going forward in our lives seems completely impossible to do. Often this is the result of being stuck on a problem or a difficult situation in our work or relationship from which it is impossible to progress. I myself have often been in situations from which it seemed difficult to move forward from. The paradox of these situations is that often when I feel stuck I feel bored in the same time. My mind and my inner self are telling me that I should most defiantly move forward but something in me in resisting to that movement. A strong force of psychological inertia. Unexciting, yet immovable barriers present themselves in endless arrays. What once seemed like a simple question of inner will to power needed to progress in my life now seemed much more dependent on the outer world and the state of my current circumstances. It’s exactly this dependents on the opinions of others which limits us, we depend on the support and approval of other people of whom we have no control over, yet we give endless control of our lives to them and subject ourselves to their whim.

Man motivation

The stable Stoic should be able to go forward in his life without being dependent on the support of other people. There might come a situation in your life when you can’t rely on anyone, most people care only about themselves, even those who you presume are supportive of your goals might resent you and think ill of you. They simply can’t help themselves, humans are very envious by their nature, the endless pursuit of worldly wealth combined with ignorance of the spiritual aspect of life and fueled by the venomous modern philosophy of nihilism and moral relativity garnered the most vile aspects of human nature. In the modern western world, only the closest people can be trusted. What once used to be the support network of the tribe is now replaced with the cold and uncaring selfishness of civilization, where the institution of the state replaced the support network of humans which once where organized in a tribe causing the individual to become more ficus on himself this creating a society of religious individualism. This is why you as a modern man need to develop your own tribe of brothers in whom you can have trust to stand shield-to -shield to you when the time comes. Yet you must be able to stand by yourself if it’s needed. There might be situations when you don’t have anybody to stand by your and when you need to watch your own back.

The worst thing a man can do for himself is being dependent on the views and opinions of toxic people. A good man needs to know when to stand on the way of people who wish him harm, there are a few kinds of enemies a man can have and categorizing one’s enemies can bet useful in order to eliminate the threat they lose to oneself, more on this in the article Opinions of Other | A Stoic’s Guide to Not Giving a Fuck-.

work motivation

Depending on nobody but yourself is a critical skill that each man needs to have on order to achieve his full potential. The tribe which you form with your fellow brothers is nothing more than a pack of lone wolves. Each one independent, yet each contributing to the success and growth of all other members of your tribe. Knowing who to rely on and how much to rely on them is not a factor of you are in the end your own support and your own biggest fan. In times of depression and in lack of motivation, ask yourself ‘who do I need to remove from my life, who is keeping me down?’and make sure that the answer to that question is not’ you yourself ‘.
